Riding Hood Movie to Catapult Rising Fur Cape Trend

It simply can't be overlooked that the movie industry influences fashion. There's no doubt that Tim Burton's 2010 "Alice in Wonderland" was the muse for a surgence of frilly pastel frocks, kiss-clasp purses, sparkly headbands, top hats, patent leather mary janes and whimsical baubles.

Now with the movie version of "Red Riding Hood" directed by Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke coming out March 11, 2011 we can easily speculate on it's effects on fashion. Since the movie is set in medievil times and the climate is wintry and has a bone chillingness about it, we can see the huge boost to the fur industry this movie will make. Already soaring in popularity, the re-issuance of the real fur coat frenzy is going to get a healthy kick in the pants with a movie like "Riding Hood" influencing fashion. Fur stoles and fur capes will especially become extrememly popular. This past winter saw a huge shift of wearing the previously formal capes and stoles in a much more casual way with turtlenecks, jeans and often belted with a chunky belt.
